Golf Fun Raiser Featured on “This is Greensboro”

On June 29, 2020, GTN’s “This is Greensboro” with Rosemary Plybon featured an interview with Justin Washington and his grandson Nathan. They were there to discuss the JustOne Foundation’s upcoming Second Annual Golf Fun Raiser.

A feature follows about The Gate City Wheelers, a basketball team co-sponsored by the foundation.

Foundation Volunteers Help Distribute Free Lunches for First Responders

On April 6, 2020, volunteers from the JustOne Foundation helped distribute more than 400 free lunches, courtesy of Gillespie Grill at Gillespie Golf Course, to first responders. The Greensboro News & Record story mentioned the foundation by name and included several photographs of founder and Executive Director Justin Washington and his grandson Nathan Newman.

Gardening Volunteers Recognized by the Parks and Recreation Department

Congratulations to members of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team from Psychotherapeutic Services, Inc., for being recognized as Volunteer of the Month by the City of Greensboro’s Parks and Recreation Department. Under the leadership of Lenora Lee of the JustOne Foundation, volunteers from Psychotherapeutic Services have as visited the JustOne Foundation Community Garden at Maywood Street Park every Wednesday for more than a year. In the past year, they have planted and tended vegetables, harvesting hundreds of pounds to donate to Greensboro Urban Ministry.

“This is Greensboro” Features Maplewood Cemetery Project

In Summer 2018, JustOne Foundation helped initiate a project to revitalize Maplewood Cemetery, where  1,097 African American veterans are buried.

“This is Greensboro” Features Foundation’s Wrestling Events

JustOne Foundation teamed up with the City of Greensboro and Fire Star Pro Wrestling to provide great free entertainment to the children and families of Greensboro.
